Many testing organizations find themselves running 24-hour operations with only an 8-hour shift. Many more testing organizations operate with multiple facilities with common workflows spread across the globe. Operations like the one at GM’s Global Battery Labs manage both of these scenarios. Using PagerDuty on-call hierarchies and your own alerting systems makes it possible to manage both scenarios. By attending this session, we will review the history of on call in the GM Global Battery Labs, the current setup, integration with Grafana, Python, Slack, the PD Events APIs, our lessons learned, and some of our ideas for improvements in the future.
